Originally by: Zubenelgenubi It wouldn't be fun if we were not outnumbered.
In the first and most decisive battle you were not outnumbered to any great extent and you had the advantage of bubbles and large cap fleet support and you still lost very heavily (and before you cry "lag" it affected both sides and we had to jump into you).
In every engagement where the numbers were pretty much even you have had heavy losses, your only real "win" that I am aware of being where you had an organised 70 man gang attacking a 40 man gang that rushed unprepared to defend.
I can understand you trying to play the "OMG we are blobbed" card to hide your defeats but most nights in MJ- you could have come there with fairly even numbers if you had been minded to do so.
Anyway, any truth to the rumours you have asked Tri to come and bail you out?
Tbh I would be surprised if they would want to swap one laggy POS war in BKG for another so soon, but that's up to them ofc.

Edited by: Fitz Chivalry on 04/09/2007 23:53:31 What is there not to love about this conflict for us? Our losses are spread over several groups (whereas yours are pretty much all smashkill) and we all get loads of kills to waggle our epeens over (for example our alliance alone has 4 carriers, 1 dread, 185 battleships, 25 HACs, 17 command ships and a ton of other stuff all posted just since Thursday, all of which would make any alliance in the game feel pretty good tbh with you).
A lot of us went South to get fights and we would prefer to be down there, but if this is what we have then this will suit us fine.
Cya in space.

except we arent SA v 2.0. Out of smashkill, only 3 corps are SA descendants. -Orc.
You also have as many ex-ASCN corps in your alliance as we do in case you hadn't noticed, so that must make you ASCN 2.1?

I have been in every single one of the EU gangs pretty much and we have never once had anyone in your gangs or on your TS, so I have no idea wtf you are talking about.
Believe me, you guys really aint that good that you need any kind of leg up. I admit our US TZ presence leaves a lot to be desired atm, but your EU TZ is no better.

Originally by: Franklloydwright tbh this talk about MAD Pact and stuff, w/e really don't care who is part of what, just bring what ya got. in all honesty i don't think smash/kill care about who are your friends and who is part of some stupid MADPACT.
Bring what u got on the field and deal with it then, as you know smash/kill won't be running anywhere.

Neither side in this conflict is exactly covering themselves with glory and both have done some incredibly stupid things to date and have suffered huge losses.
All the smack from both sides in this thread is pretty hilarious, its like two fat kids arguing about who is the most badass when tbh neither side has anything much to crow about from what I have seen to date.
Some of the stuff on our (MADpact) side like the POS set-ups in MJ-, people logging off in the station despite you telling them 100 times not to etc etc is painful to see and smashkill, you guys have lost 30bn isk in ships and pretty much all of the EU tz fleet battles against people you view as carebears.
How about we stop embaressing ourselves and just leave it to the game.
/me deletes eve-o from his faves.

You had 150 on the gate, tons of fighters and 4 large bubbles, what exactly were we supposed to jump in with under those circumstances? 50? 100?

but do ya guys rly need 5 to 1 ods ?
i geus ya guys want to all ya can to defend ya outpost (and thats logical offcourse)
to bad that we couldn't do a 2 vs 1 battle orso without a nodecrash
If you are jumping into a camped gate with massive fighter support you would be idiotic to engage without a lot of extra people.
Tell you what next time you all get off the gate and dont put up bubbles and fighters and we will see what we can do, k?

gz to SK etc.
It was fun at the start, the first fight that we jumped in especially was awesome, one of my best experiences in eve to date, but after a while it was clear whatever we achieved in the EU tz (which was pretty good especially at the start) was going to be undone in the US tz (though they did their best we are simply not a US heavy pact and given the average experience levels of mad as a whole I admit we did need a numbers advantage) at which point a lot (too many) people just stopped showing up.
As ever this war showed that the side that wants it the most and can suck up the losses will usually win, in this case it wasn't (the wider) us.
Hopefully it will also have convinced a lot of people that frigs, Myrmidons and Thoraxes have a very limited role to play in fleet battle
Well played SK, the local was a lot nicer than these threads and most of it was decent enough fights and it was nice to see some old familiar faces like Mrs Norax and Ferretidous in local.

HAX!!:)
I fit 5 stabs and warp out as soon as anyone tries to lock me, I then sit cloaked at a SS, wait 15 mins then log off claiming that I had desync and crashed.

That's nice. Then we all have a reason to hate CCP. Sept we lost a station an they gained one. That bug allowed them time to set up a tower when we could have. But hey that's eve. It's over. Like i said gf rk/smash.
Wrong, not using you're 400 man blob to destroy a tower that was sitting just out of reinforced mode and not destroying the structures on an empty moon where a tower had just been destroyed allowed the advantage to be gained for the final time. It is the exact same issues we have dealt with, with every pos that has been destroyed in mj-5; there is no excuse for inaction.
I am no longer involved in this conflict so have no axe to grind.
What happened here was:
- we jumped in with our large gang
- following some very bad lag we drove your camp off the gate and got a fair few kills and losses
- by the time the system had stabilised followed node deaths it was about 1-2am UK time and so even later Euro time
- the guns in question were bugged and so were taking an absolute age to kill off
- more and more people were logging off and there were not yet that many US tz people coming on to replace them (our #1 problem throught this conflcit as you were strongest (relatively speaking) at about 3-4am)
- as we did not have the numbers by the time the system was semi stable (and it was a time of flux in the gang) to take out your POS we told them to build US tz numbers and only begin an assault of your POS if safe to do so
- we left instructions for the people remaining NOT to destroy the guns at the POS site as by the time they got them almost clear it would be about 4am and it was very questionable whether we would still control the system. We wanted them to leave the guns so we could finish the job in EU tz and get a POS up.
- these instructions were not followed, the spent ages destroying those guns and by the time the site was almost clear you had numbers to drive off the by now much much smaller US tz gang and get your POS up. - when we found out what had happened and the fact the hostile POS had not been destroyed as not enough US tz people had turned up and that desptie all our efforts in EU tz we were back where we started this is when most people (from our alliance at least) had reached the "well f*** this for a game of soldiers" point and came to the conclusion that MJ- was going to be lost.

You didn't have enough ppl? This was right after the big node bomb, and when everyone got relogged local was at 300+ and there was only 100 of us at the POS when it dropped reinforced... but to our confused and bewielder result ya'll never attacked the POS just went and repped your cyno jammer.. wierdest night in eve ever!
You obviously missed the bit where I pointed out that this was now getting on for 2am and much as we love the game the vast majority of the gang which was EU tz people were getting ready to log off and were not willing to start a POS assault at that time.
